Thank you for visiting the Back2Work website. I started Back2Work in 2013 because I believe people with disabilities and medical and mental health challenges deserve the same opportunities to work and to access the many benefits that meaningful employment brings. I grew the company with people who shared my belief, and I am proud to say we have made a difference in more than 80,000 job seekers’ lives.

It is our mission to help many more people to realise their full potential. Because at Back2Work we know that people are better working than when they are not. Studies show that having a job contributes to our happiness, helps us build confidence and self-esteem, reduces depression and much more.

What We Do Differently

All Back2Work Health Specialists are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), the national authority that protects the public by setting the standards and policies that all registered health professionals must meet. This means we are held to a higher professional and work standard than those who are not AHPRA registered.

All of Back2Work’s unique clinical products and services are created with evidence-based research. We are active research contributors through our PhD program and have affiliations with national and international research institutions including the Universite de Montreal in Canada, the University of Sheffield in the UK and the University of Southern Queensland in Australia.

When providers have job seekers who aren’t working and should be, Back2Work helps to carry the load; we work collaboratively and deliver a range of proven, timely and cost-effective health services, using specialised skills a provider’s staff generally do not have. It is an efficient and practical approach to increasing your job seekers’ chances of returning to and staying in work.

Founder & Managing Director of The Better Health Generation comprising of Back2Work, Care Squared, Assessment Squared, Me & Work, Aim2Work UK and Your Health Plus.

Dr Kylie is a clinical psychologist with more than 20 years of experience. She holds a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology, is an Adjunct Research Fellow at the University of Southern Queensland and a member of the Australian Psychological Society Clinical College and the Institute of Company Directors.

Dr Kylie founded Back2Work and The Better Health Generation because she believes people are better working than when they are not; and that people with disabilities and mental and medical health issues deserve the same opportunities to work.

In her spare time, Dr Kylie loves to hang out with her family (including border collie, Harvey), enjoys travelling and plays competitive basketball and softball.

FRED CICCHINI

FRED CICCHINI

Director and Group CEO of The Better Health Generation comprising of Back2Work, Care Squared, Assessment Squared, Me & Work, Aim2Work UK and Your Health Plus.

Fred is a registered psychologist with more than a decade of clinical experience. He has postgraduate studies in social health, a Masters in Management and is a member of the Institute of Company Directors. Fred has held senior executive positions in the outsourced human resources and occupational health industries and been recognised for his ability to grow and develop the profitable and forward-focused enterprise.

Fred joined The Better Health Generation because he is an ally and advocate for those who others would seek to marginalise. He passionately believes that economic participation is a valid and valuable psychological intervention that empirically demonstrates that people are better working than when they are not.

Fred is a loving husband and Dad. He has collected comic books since he was a teenager and is a sucker for stories where good triumphs over evil and the most unlikely people overcome adversity. He lives to laugh and doesn’t mind shocking people from time to time. It’s likely that you will experience both of these within the first five minutes of meeting him.

DR RACHEL CALLAGHAN

General Manager of Quality & Clinical Excellence

Dr Rachel has a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and is a registered Clinical Psychologist with AHPRA. She has worked in the mental health profession for close to 10 years with more than five years of experience in applying psychology in the workplace and return to work sector.

Dr Rachel has a person-centred approach to her work. She is passionate about supporting people to achieve their personal goals for wellness, mental health and employment. She believes in utilising evidence-based, best practice in her work and is motivated to deliver high-quality services.

Dr Rachel loves to learn and develop new knowledge in both her professional and personal life. This is why you might find her having a go in a local trivia competition.​

MARK FINDLAY

Back2Work State Manager, Queensland

Mark is an Exercise Physiologist with over a decade of experience in the areas of disability, employment and injury/ illness management. He has a Bachelor of Applied Science – Exercise Science, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Exercise Rehabilitation. Mark has worked extensively in both operational and customer partnership roles.

Mark is passionate about working closely with customers and clients to assist them in achieving their goals and is a strong advocate of the health benefits of work.

Mark has just obtained his motorcycle license and has an interest in all things sport and fitness.

ELLI RILEY

Back2Work State Manager, Victoria, South Australia & Tasmania

Elli is a generally registered psychologist with a Bachelor of Psychological Sciences (Honours) and a Masters of Professional Psychology. She is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society.

Elli is a passionate, solution-focussed psychologist who is dedicated to empowering and encouraging people to make positive change through the collaborative development of adaptive strategies with far-reaching functional impact.

Our Elli is a sports lover and dedicated obstacle course racer (she placed first in age group at Spartan 2018 in Melbourne!) and completed the 2018 Melbourne Marathon. To the delight of her team, Elli is also a superb baker that can turn out a spectacular batch of cookies.

KERRIE PAYNE

KERRIE PAYNE

Back2Work State Manager, Western Australia

Kerrie has a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Psychology from the University of Plymouth, England. She is a registered Provisional Psychologist, who has achieved accreditation from the British Psychological Society, is an associate member of the Australian Psychological Society and an approved NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner.

Kerrie takes pride in her work and is invested in assisting people to move closer towards their goals. She loves the diversity of her role and to see the results of people’s hard work and celebrate the smallest of victories with them and their families.

After a busy day of work, Kerrie enjoys nothing more than immersing herself in a good TV series or film, while enjoying a chocolaty treat. She has been known to spend an entire day glued to the sofa, needing to know how a show ends.

Carla is a highly skilled professional with more thank 25 years of supervisory and managerial experience. She is a consummate people person with a unique blend of skills from a diverse career within the employment service sector. Carla excels at planning, monitoring and delivering results and loves working with others to achieve goals and objectives. We love Carla’s get-stuck-in-to-achieve-objectives approach. We know you will, too.

When not at work you will find Carla relaxing with her family or flying around the world thanks to her airline industry husband seeking out the best day spas.

JOANNE HOPKINS

JOANNE HOPKINS

Back2Work State Partnership Manager, Western Australia

Joanne (we call her “Jo”) is a Registered Nurse after completing a Bachelor of Nursing and has a Post Graduate Certificate of Business. She is currently working towards her Masters of Business Administration.

Jo understands the importance of how meaningful employment contributes to overall health. She is passionate about helping people with a focus on return to work and injury management. Jo enjoys working with others to achieve the same goals and to assist people in overcoming barriers and improving their lives.

Jo is a fun and caring person, and when not at work, loves to spend time with her husband and two adorable little boys.

BENJAMIN HOUGHTON

Back2Work State Partnership Manager, South Australia

Ben is an Occupational Therapist with significant clinical and managerial experience with allied health services under the NDIS. He has a Bachelor Degree in Science, with a major in Psychology and a Masters degree in Occupational Therapy. Ben has worked across various sectors including hospital rehabilitation, workers compensation, private practice and disability services. He is an AHPRA registered clinician with managerial and front-line experience in aged-care, rehabilitation, paediatrics and disability.

Ben is passionate about improving the quality of life and health for everyone, with a particular interest in physical and mental health through meaningful occupation and promoting positive life decisions. He enjoys working with clinicians and recipients of our Back2Work services to ensure positive outcomes.

Ben enjoys sport and spending time with his kids. He has travelled widely and can be found kicking a football with his boys or scouring the local markets for a great BBQ.
